Konstruct for iOS creates generative augmented reality art with your voice
To get started, you first need to print out the Konstruct marker and place it wherever you'd like to create your AR sculpture -- it could be on your living room wall, or on the floor of your bathroom, it doesn't matter. Open the app, point your iPhone at the marker, and start making some noises! Once you're done, you can save your creation, or simply wipe the slate clean and start again.
The volume of your voice affects the size of the shapes that are drawn on the screen, and you can move your head around to alter the path of your 'brush' -- but to change the shape of your brush or modify the color palette you have to use a menu. Without knowledge of the app's internal workings, it's hard to say what the actual difference between whistling, talking and singing is -- and judging by the developer's affinity for whistling in the demo video (after the break), the app probably doesn't perform that much analysis on your input.
Still, Konstruct is just a prototype! A later version could do away with menus and rely entirely on the location, tonality, quality and amplitude of your voice -- and judging by the the words of the developer, James Alliban, there is definitely more in store for Konstruct: "The idea of transforming entire cities into user generated virtual art galleries really appeals to me. I see Konstruct as an early prototype that will hopefully be realised in this form in the future."

Add playback hotkeys to Amazon Cloud Player with a Chrome extension
Sure, Amazon's Cloud Player works -- as long as you're in the U.S. or willing to do some tinkering -- but it's fairly simplistic at the moment. There are plenty of features missing which we'd like to see added -- but since Cloud Player is a Web app we don't have to wait for Amazon!
Google Chrome users, for example, can add playback hotkeys with an extension called keyMazony. Once installed, you'll have keyboard control of your Amazon Cloud Player queue. keyMazony commands will work as long as you're in the same Chrome window as Cloud Player, even if its tab doesn't have focus. The key combinations are customizable as well -- just make sure you don't set up a combo that conflicts with another extension or Chrome's built-in keyboard shortcuts.

Ice Cream Sandwich, and a 7-inch tablet -- two things that (for me) that go great together. We got our 7-inch Ainol NOVO7 tablet fresh off the boat, and we're having a look at "The first Android 4.0 tablet in the world." We really don't expect much from these no-name tablets -- especially one that retails at less than $100, but the intrigue of Ice Cream Sandwich running natively on one made it too hard to resist.

New Year's Box Office: "Mission: Impossible" Reigns Again
Claiming the pole position for the second straight week, "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" finds itself perched in the top spot at the box office to begin the New Year's weekend of December 30, 2011 - January 1, 2012.
The Tom Cruise and Paula Patton fronted action film pulled in an estimated $10.7 million on Friday while expected to bring in a solid total of $28.2 million during its third weekend of release.
With little change being seen from the Christmas weekend placings, the runner-up slot is occupied once more by the Guy Ritchie directed sequel "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," as the Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr starring motion picture made $7.4 million on Friday while trending towards a weekend take of $20.8 million.
Rounding out the top five at the box office in estimated weekend totals are the family friendly film "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" ($18 million), followed by the Daniel Craig/Rooney Mara led offering "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" ($13.9 million) and the Scarlett Johansson/Matt Damon co-starring family dramedy "We Bought a Zoo" ($13 million).

Little Monsters saw how Lady Gaga celebrates Thanksgiving during her lavish TV special, and now we know where Mother Monster will spend the holiday season.
"Well I'll be in Japan right up until Christmas day," Gaga told MTV News earlier this month. "So I'll be eating with all my Japanese Little Monsters. I like shabu shabu [a form of Japanese hot pot]." On Tuesday (December 20), the singer tweeted about her trip there. "Just arrived in Tokyo!" she wrote, including a photo of herself sitting in her hotel room. "So happy to see my Kawaii Monsters! #SleepyGaga bedtime. I'm a professional napper today." She kicked off the gifting season with her holiday-themed pop-up store and window display, Gaga's Workshop, at Barneys New York. She and stylist Nicola Formichetti gave fans an idea of what the pop star would want from Santa with Mother Monster-inspired products like head-shaped candles, leather jackets, her favorite books and chocolates shaped like shoes. The singer is expected to land Stateside on December 31, just in time for the 40th annual "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.". She's one of the many acts lined up for the event, including Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, LMFAO and Florence and the Machine. The show will be anchored by "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest, with help from Fergie and Jenny McCarthy. The busy holiday season caps off an even busier year for Lady Gaga, who happened to be MTV News' Top Newsmaker of 2011. She tirelessly released singles, videos, personas, a chart-topping album (Born This Way) and scooped up awards at seemingly every show from the Grammys to the VMAs. She was also our #5 Best Artist of 2011, and her disco empowerment track, "Born This Way," boasted the #5 spot on the Best Songs of 2011 list as well. Burrito Bison is a simple game for gummy bear lovers
As you may have guessed from the name, you're a bison (not a burrito, though). In the course of your day-to-day grocery shopping, you're abducted into a bag of gummy bears, and must now fend for yourself.
At the beginning of each round you launch yourself onto the marching gummy (gummi?) bears, while you're being watched by a huge crowd of even more gummy bears. Your goal is to keep bouncing on the bears and earn more and more money while you do it. Every time you hit a gummy bear, you lose some momentum. If you hit the floor, you basically lose all of it.
But don't give up just yet! You have an emergency thrust which you can use to gain some momentum and keep bouncing on those bears. This extra thrust gets refilled as you hit more bears.
There are also special gummy bears that give you extra thrust or extra money. The money comes in handy at the end of each round, when you can shop for cool stuff to make your bison even more effective against those gummy bears.
It's a fun and colorful game that kept my interest for quite some time, and almost sent me running to the closest store to get some gummy bears!
